When is the next Book Sale?

Saturday, February 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, February 28 from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The traditional winter book sale will be held in two rooms of the Oklahoma Expo Building at 3213 Wichita Walk at the OKC Fairgrounds. This sale is free and open to the public.

Members Only, Friday, February 26 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Current annual Friends members and Lifetime members are invited to Shop Early. Paid Friends membership (not your library card) is required. Bring a physical or digital copy of your member receipt or check in by member name at the event.

NOTE: Annual membership opportunities close on Dec. 31, 2026.

What's new for the 2027 Book Sale?

• Special Sunday, February 22 Shopping Hours

From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Book sale will be limited to 500 people at a time. There will be no loud announcements during these hours. Admission preference will be given to guests that need more time to get around with wheels or canes, and those guests who would like to attend our event, but struggle with sensory overload.

• Cart and Wagon Regulations begin February 2027

Shoppers may bring a cart or wagon that is no more than 2 ft. wide in any direction. Please do not bring unpeopled wagons, utility carts, shopping carts, garbage cans, or any wheeled item that is larger than an average person standing beside you. Wagons and items to transport people will be accepted. Beginning in February 2027, large carts will need to be returned to vehicles or checked in the lobby as space permits.

• Your Guide to the Book Sale with Tips and Tricks

Whether it’s your first Book Sale or your 30th Book Sale, we want to make it the best experience ever! That means making an online guide to help everyone navigate the Book Sale and outlining the best way to tackle the Book Sale as a Large Volume Buyer who purchases 100 items or more.

It is our goal that these expectations and guides will make the Book Sale an enjoyable experience for all who join us.

The Best Way to Shop Book Sale is as a Friends Member!

Please join the Friends of the Library by December 31!

After December 31, annual memberships will close. We don’t want you to miss out, so please click here or the button below to get your Membership for as low as $15.

What does this mean for my access to the Members Only Shopping Experience? Members should bring a physical or digital copy of their membership receipt. A membership ‘Know Before You Go’ reminder, with proof of membership, will be sent the week before the event via email.

Memberships will not be available for purchase after December 31 to help maintain crowd control and customer service for all members.

What happens to the leftover books?

At the end of our book sale on Sunday, February 28, event volunteers, educators, and nonprofits are invited to take away leftover materials between 5pm and 6:30pm. You must register in advance…
