Our Mission - To grow the endowment to enhance our libraries.
The Library Endowment Trust was established in 1986 by the Friends of the Metropolitan Library System as a way for people to give to the library and to designate funds to help meet future library needs such as renovation or construction. The Trust raises funds each year by making requests to the community and hosting an annual fundraising dinner, Literary Voices®.
Funds donated to the Library Endowment Trust help to grow the endowment. Historically, the Trust has made annual gifts to the Metropolitan Library System to help fund programming needs such as summer and after school reading programs, scholarships for library staff and funding for furniture, art and technology that improves the quality of our 19 library branches.
Donations can be made to the Library Endowment Trust via cash, check or credit card. Corporate sponsorships are available and the Trust also accepts planned estate gifts. Our current primary focus is to grow our endowment in order to supplement construction and renovation costs expected within the next ten years.
