Book Sale

Waiting for the next Book Sale, but still want to support the Friends of the Library?

You can contribute:

Shop online through our Amazon store or our eBay store.

When is the next Book Sale?

Saturday, August 9 through Sunday, August 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Summer Book Sale will be held in the Hobby, Arts & Crafts Building at 3100 General Pershing Boulevard at the OKC Fairgrounds. This sale is free and open to the public.

What to expect at the Summer Sale?

  • A smaller version of the original!

In a different building for the Summer, we’ll offer the same or similar items to what is offered in our General Room during our Winter sale. Better Books will not be offered at this event.

Prices will be the same as at our Winter sale – $2 hardback, $1 paperback, with children’s items half that price.

Members who join online between July 1 and our Summer Sale event can enjoy an exclusive shop on August 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Members will show their membership receipt electronically or on a printed receipt at the Summer Sale member event, or check in by name.  Click on the member link below after July 1 to join!

Volunteers will not have a preshop opportunity at this event, but will be invited to an after-sale take-away event.

  • Your Guide to the Summer Sale with Tips & Tricks

Parking is free and restrooms will be on-site. We accept cash, credit and debit cards. Please do not bring large, bulky carts that prevent shopping flow.

If you are a member, kids 12 and under do not need a ticket to join you at the member event.

Please only bring certified support animals to the sale and do not bring your pets.

Be mindful of the weather! The Hobby, Arts & Crafts building is air conditioned, but the parking lot is not!

When is the next Book Sale?

Saturday, February 22 through Sunday, February 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Book Sale will be held in the Oklahoma Expo Building at the OKC Fairgrounds. This sale is free and open to the public.

What's new for the 2025 Book Sale?

• Special Sunday, February 23 Shopping Hours

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Book Sale will be limited to 500 people at a time. There will be no loud announcements during these hours. Admission preference will be given to guests that need more time to get around with wheels or canes, and those guests who would like to attend our event, but struggle with sensory overload.

• Your Guide to the Book Sale with Tips and Tricks

Whether it’s your first Book Sale or your 30th Book Sale, we want to make it the best experience ever! That means making an online guide to help everyone navigate the Book Sale and outlining the best way to tackle the Book Sale as a Large Volume Buyer who purchases 100 items or more.

It is our goal that these expectations and guides will make the Book Sale an enjoyable experience for all who join us.

The Best Way to Shop Book Sale as a Friends Member!

Please join the Friends of the Library by January 31.

After January 31, memberships will close. We don’t want you to miss out, so please click here or the button below to get your Membership for as low as $15.

What does this mean for my tickets to the Members Only Shopping Experience? Book Sale tickets are sent by mail after memberships close on January 31. If you do not receive your tickets, Members should check in at the Will Call table between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday, February 21. Tickets and memberships will not be available for purchase after January 31 to help maintain crowd control and customer service for all members.
